Morris Animal Foundation is now offering pet owners a chance to talk with Jack Stephens, founder of the pet insurance industry and a former veterinarian, about any questions or concerns they have regarding pet insurance.
“It’s a terribly sad fact that some pet parents have had to forgo or postpone necessary veterinary care because they could not afford the cost,” said Patricia Olson, DVM, MAF president and chief executive officer. “Too often, a much loved pet is euthanized due to cost factors. Having pet insurance may have allowed the pet to benefit from all treatment options.”
Pet owners can post their question on the website by clicking on the “Ask an Expert” link on the website’s homepage, www.morrisanimalfoundation.com. Stephens will respond to pet owners’ questions. Currently, pet owners have 10 pet insurance companies in the United States to choose from. Pet insurance can help pet care become affordable and can be used as an alternative to delaying treatment or euthanasia.
Morris Animal Foundation is a nonprofit that funds research projects benefiting companion animals as well as wildlife.
