Recall

 FDA

The production and distribution of this product has been halted by OC Raw Dog while they and the FDA investigate what caused the issue. OC Raw Dog also stated that they will make all the necessary changes to their production methods to further protect their product.

OC Raw Dog has issued the recall because a routine sampling by the Nebraska Department of Food and Agriculture revealed a presumed positive result for salmonella. Salmonella can be a serious and sometimes fatal infection in young children, the elderly, frail individuals and those with weak immune systems. There is risk to people who have handled the contaminated product, especially if hands and surfaces that have been exposed to the product have not been thoroughly cleaned. The risks salmonella poses to healthy individuals include abdominal cramping, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, nausea and vomiting. Though rare, more serious symptoms can occur, including arthritis, arterial infections, endocarditis, eye irritation, muscle pain and urinary tract symptoms. If you or a member of your household is experiencing any of these symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.

Dogs that have been exposed to salmonella may experience vomiting, lethargy, fever, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, decreased appetite and abdominal pain. If your dog was exposed to the Turkey & Product Frozen Canine Formulation and is experiencing any of these symptoms, contact your veterinarian.
