Pat Enright, President of the Westbury Kennel Association, Inc, has addressed the rumor the club has moved its show from its usual October date. The club will, in fact, hold two shows this year.

Enright says, “There is a rumor circulating that the Westbury Kennel Association, Inc. is not holding their show in October. That is not true. We have applied and have been approved by the AKC to hold our AKC All Breed Conformation Show on October 2, 2016 at the Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, N.Y.

“The May 19 show has been added in an effort to not only keep the Westbury Kennel Association, Inc. solvent, but to also boost the sport here on Long Island by making the Ladies Kennel Association of America and the Long Island Kennel Club’s shows a four day show event which now bears the name: Gold Coast Cluster, May 19-22, 2016. We are hoping this notification clears up any misunderstandings.”

Viola Burgos of the Ladies Kennel Association of America, and Honi Reisman of the Long Island Kennel Club, along with Michael Canalizo, approached approached Westbury KA to hold an additional show at their May event, also held at the Planting Fields. “This is a fine example of the Dog Fancy looking out for each other and coming together for the greater good,” Enright says.
